How to think about a beach day from our properties
Our stays are in Panama City and Historic St. Andrews — not directly on the Gulf. The trade-off is honest: you give up beachfront, you get a real neighborhood, quiet streets, and stronger value. The actual beach is a short drive away — usually 15–25 minutes depending on traffic and which access point you pick.
Where to access the beach
- St. Andrews State Park — the most scenic option. Jetties, calm lagoon, full facilities. Day-use fee at the gate. See the St. Andrews State Park guide.
- Pier Park area beaches — closest to shopping, restaurants, the SkyWheel, and the Russell-Fields Pier. Several public access points along Front Beach Road.
- M.B. Miller County Pier (Russell-Fields Pier) — popular for sunset, fishing, and family photos.
- Camp Helen State Park — quieter west end, near 30A. Worth the drive for a calmer day. See the Camp Helen guide.
Conditions change — check the flag
Panama City Beach uses a flag warning system (green/yellow/red/double-red) for surf and rip-current conditions. Always check the flag at your beach access before going in. The official PCB Beach Safety page publishes daily flag color, plus rip-current and weather advisories.
